Bringing your charts in from another program
Arcus can read chart files from any other astrology software, so you can instantly import a database that you have spent years building elsewhere. Different astrology programs save and export charts differently, so depending on where you are migrating your database from you will need to follow the instructions specific to that program.
Three kinds of file work:
- Chart files ending in .SFcht. This is the file Solar Fire and Astro Gold save your charts into. One file usually holds the whole database, but you can import more than one.
- An AAF export. AAF is the astrological exchange format. This is the file you will usually receive from websites like astro.com. It is plain text, so you can paste it in without saving a file first.
- A spreadsheet. Any chart list saved as a CSV or TSV file. Arcus reads the columns and asks you to confirm which one is which before it casts anything.
Make sure to sign in first to be able to import charts. Imported charts are saved to your library and can be re-exported out at any time via the settings menu.
