Terms of Use
Last updated 12 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Arcus Astrology, covering the website at arcusastrology.com, the Arcus app for Mac, and the Arcus app for iPhone. Using any of them means you accept what is written here. What Arcus stores about you, and who can see it, is set out separately in the privacy policy.
Your account
An account is for one person, it is not to be shared, and you are responsible for what happens under it. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13 in any case.
Sign in with the same method each time. Signing in by a different route creates a separate account rather than opening the one you already have.
Arcus changes
Arcus is under continuous development and is offered as it stands. Features may change, move, or be withdrawn, calculations may be corrected, and the service may be unavailable at times without notice. Nothing here promises a level of availability.
Export anything you cannot afford to lose. Arcus keeps your work carefully and has never lost any, and that is still not a substitute for your own copy of what matters to your practice.
Your charts and your clients
What you save stays yours. Arcus claims no ownership of your charts, notes, events or anything else you enter, and holds them only in order to run the service for you. Nothing you save is published, shared between accounts, or used to train anything.
Chart records commonly describe other people, clients among them. You are responsible for having a proper basis for holding those details and for handling them as the professional records they are, in line with whatever rules apply to your practice where you work.
What you may not do
- Resell access, share an account, or run Arcus as a service for other people who have no account of their own.
- Extract, copy or redistribute the ephemeris data, the star catalogs, the minor planet catalogs, or the delineation text. These are licensed to Arcus, and that license does not extend through Arcus to you.
- Automate access, scrape the service, or work around the limits on an account.
- Reverse engineer or decompile the software, except where the law where you live says you may regardless of this clause.
The ephemeris
Positions are computed by the Swiss Ephemeris, used under a professional license held by Arcus Astrology. That license covers the use of the ephemeris inside Arcus. It does not give you any right to the ephemeris files themselves, whether you find them in a browser, inside an installed copy of the app, or anywhere else.
What Arcus is, and is not
Arcus computes and presents astrological data. Interpretation is yours. Arcus is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and nothing it produces should be relied on in place of a qualified professional in those fields. Any use you make of a chart, and any advice you give a client on the strength of one, is your own professional judgement and your own responsibility.
Paying for Arcus
Arcus is $20 a month or $180 a year. New accounts begin with 30 days free. A card is taken when you start, nothing is charged during those 30 days, and the first charge falls the day after they end unless you have cancelled before then. The 30 free days are offered once per account.
A subscription renews by itself, at the same price and the same interval, until you cancel it. Cancel any time from Settings, then Account, which opens the billing page where you can also change your card or move between monthly and yearly. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have already paid for.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Arcus never sees or stores your card number.
Refunds. If you are unhappy within 14 days of a charge, write to support@arcusastrology.com and it will be refunded in full, no reason needed. After 14 days a charge is not usually refunded, though you are welcome to ask. Refunding ends access straight away. Nothing here limits any refund right the law gives you where you live.
If the price changes it will not change for you without at least 30 days' notice by email, and it never applies to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
Accounts that were here first. Everyone who had an Arcus account before 18 August 2026 has free access for as long as they keep the account, at no charge and with nothing to cancel. That is a commitment, not an introductory offer.
Ending it
You can stop using Arcus whenever you like, and you can delete your account and everything in it from Settings, then Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
If a subscription ends, nothing of yours is deleted. Your charts, notes, events and readings stay exactly as you left them, and subscribing again opens them all back up. There is no window in which they expire.
You can take everything out at any time, subscribed or not, from Settings, then Export your data. It downloads as one file containing a page you can read in any browser with no software at all, spreadsheets of your charts and notes, and a complete machine-readable copy. Do that before you delete an account, because deletion cannot be undone.
Arcus may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is being used in a way that damages the service or another person. Where the circumstances allow it, you will be told why and given a chance to put it right.
Warranty and liability
Arcus is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and no promise is made that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for any particular purpose of yours.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Arcus Astrology is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for lost data, and total liability for any claim is limited to what you have paid for Arcus in the twelve months before it arose. Some places do not allow limits like these, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law there permits.
If you installed Arcus from the App Store
This agreement is between you and Arcus Astrology, and Apple is not a party to it. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Arcus and no responsibility for any claim about it, including claims about product liability, a failure to meet a legal requirement, or an infringement of someone's rights. Apple and its subsidiaries may nonetheless enforce these terms against you as a third party who benefits from them.
Changes
These terms may change as Arcus changes. The date at the top will change with them, and account holders will be told by email before a change that materially affects their rights takes effect. Continuing to use Arcus afterwards means accepting the revised terms.
