Importing charts from AstroSeek
Your saved charts come out as an AAF export, which is plain text you paste straight into Arcus.
- Sign in, open the Account menu at the top right, and choose My private astro DB.
- Your saved charts are listed under the Saved persons tab. At the very bottom of that list, click Database backup, export in AAF format.
- Copy everything in the box that appears. Each chart takes two lines: the name, date, time and place on the first, its coordinates and time zone on the second.
- In Arcus, click Open chart in the top bar.
- Click Import at the top of the Saved Charts window.
- Click Paste chart text, and paste the export into the box. There is no file to save.
From there it goes through the same review step as any other import: the charts are listed, anything already in your library is left out, and nothing is cast until you say so.
The export carries the coordinates for every chart, so nothing has to be looked up and none of your charts wait on a place.
